Question pc rebooting problem

I hope this is on the right board, apologies if it isnt. I am having serious problems with my pc. I have windows xp on it with service pack 2. my computer keeps rebooting when ever it feels like it, more so when i am playing games. I did a full reinstall of windows to see if this was the problem but it wasnt. The pc still reboots and after if has rebooted it tells me this system has recovered from a serious error. I have scanned for viruses with norton and it didnt find anything. I had to run norton in safe mode because it wont run any other way. i went into systems and changed the settings so that the pc wont reboot if it has problems but doing this only makes the pc freeze and i have to reboot it anyway. Please help before this pc ends up in a skip! btw i am not so good with pc's although i do know how to format and install windows.

You need to investigate hardware issues, such as processor or video card overheating and faulty ram.
