question about the accounts of windowsxp
I have 3 accounts in my windowsxp pro edition, if a virus or a spyware enters my account, can I remove the virus or the spyware just by switching to another account and deleting my account?

no, I don't think that would help at all.

It depends exactly where the offending files are at. If they are within the documents and settings structure under your user name, deleting the profile should get rid of them, but that's pretty drastic. I think you will find that most malware will hook itself into the Windows structure, and deleting a profile won't affect that.

GLC,
you mean to say that the folder of "documents and settings" will be deleted if I delete the account, what about the other folders like "program files"? |

there are several free virus programs, avg being the most popular one.
useing one of these programs would take care of most of any problem, you should not have to remove any of your programs, settings or accounts to get rid of them, run avg and it will scan all incomming and out going mail and any files you download, so you should not run into the need to do anything else. |
