New Message Coming Up.
I have just received a new message on screen each time i boot up computer, any ideas what it is or what could have caused it?
(Windows cannot find C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again) I have never typed any such requirement in. |

Not had this one myself, but it would certainly appear a spyware issue. First, run a spyware and viruscheck. Then, type the 'msconfig' command into 'run', go for the startup tab and uncheck anything that has 'nail.exe' in it (be careful not to remove anything else).
After a quick search, i found this post on a forum, with a comprehensive guide to a fix. Hope this helps.

Hello Freakitchen, I have run microsoft antispyware,a2 squared trojan, Spybot and easycleaner, no problems found. Nothing under startup tab. Went into regedit and found under Hkey local machine this, Microsoft/ windows NT/ current version/ Winlog an item (Shell Explorer. exe. C:\windows nail.exe )
Is this the culprit or is this something else? |

Read the "posting a hijack this" thread and follow the directions there. Then post a hjt log in the Security Forum. Nail.exe can be a real pain to remove.
