Failed IE6 SP1 install
I have a failed install of IE6 SP1 on a Windows 2000 pro machine. I reinstalled Win 2k as I was unable to repair or remove IE6. It took it back to working IE5 but I can not install IE6 because it see a pending reboot from the previous failed install. Any idea where to find and remove the failed pending reboot?

Have you tried rebooting? Simple fix I know, but I've run across some instances of people not doing just that.
If IE6 shows up in the Add and Remove Programs wizard in the Control Panel have you tried removing it from there? Have you tried a "repair" install? It used to be that when upgrading from IE5 to IE 6 you just downloaded an install program and ran it. It would recognize if IE6 was installed and give you an option of repairing the install. Don't know if that's still available or not. It's been a while since I rebuilt a machine and installed IE6 before installing SP's. It might still work. |

IE6 SP1 failed install
Yes I have rebooted repeatedly. No it never showed up in the add or remove programs section. I would have revoved it that way instead of going to the trouble of reloading Win 2K.
