a question about microsoft explorer

Hi all

I put this question here because my os is win98. However, my internet microsoft explorer version is 6.0. I dowanloaded some prpgrams then I found them useless; so, I uninstalled them. Then I descovered that when I open a(web page) in a new window, the explorer doesn't respond. Although the new page opens, but it is empty. The only way to get use of it is to press stop then refresh. So can you help me?

Control panel, add/remove programs, Microsoft IE6, add/remove, repair. If that doesn't fix it, same thing, this time restore previous version instead of repair.

Thank you glc. i am afraid that it doesn't help. I forgot to say that when I uninstalled explorer 6, the basic browser, which is explorer 5, ran OK. However, when I reinstalled the version 6 again, the problm came back.

IE6 can be a crapshoot on 98, sometimes it works fine, sometimes it doesn't. If 5 works, use it.

Or just use IE 5. It works fine on 98.

Nope. That was IE4. I'm still running IE5 on Win2K and it works fine when I choose to use it. IE 5.5 did have some issues.
