XP Pro SP2 wont boot from cd
I just built a new computer...and got a brand new copy of XP SP2 from my college campus computer store ($12 woohoo) and my computer will not boot to any of the included CDs (it will boot to a couple different live linux CDs with no problems) so I found some XP SP2 floppys (on their website (here ) and got the SATA drivers for my hard drives and can make it to the last floppy where it tells me to insert my XP Pro SP2 CD...which it doesnt recognize as an XP Pro SP2 CD -_-
I am considering making the floppies again or digging up my win98se installer and then upgrading Any suggestions? |

try the xp disk in another computer. if it doesnt boot in that pc then the disk is bad and return it to your campus store.
gotta love the discount you get on microsoft products from school. i purchased 2000 and xp when the first came out from my school for $25/each, and i got office for $30.
