I have windows xp home edition with service pack 1 installed, i can't get the windows to update. Whenever i try to go to the updater website the computer will lock up and i will have to use contol alt delete, and sometimes that doesnt even work any one maybe know the problem? Thanks!
Heres the computers specs if it helps: Gateway Intel Pentium 4 3.00ghz 496mb ram Microsoft xp Home w/ service pack 1 (service [pack2 does not work with this machine) |

What other programs are running in background when you try to run the updater? Have you tried turning them all off before you run the updater?
Are you using a software firewall other than the one built into Windows? Cricket
