A couple of Xp questions
Hi guys,
Right, just bought a copy of XP Home Edition to install on my my home PC. I use XP on my laptop but havn't looked into it it that much and I have a few questions. Firstly, I use MSN Messenger on my home computer. When I have, for example 5 windows open, it collates them together and I get a bar saying "5 MSN Messenger" and I click on that to see what windows I have, likewise if I have a few Mozilla windows open. Is there anyway to disable this and go back to the ways of Windows 9x etc where they are all kept single? (This XP feature is a good idea but slightly annoying IMO) Secondly, keyboard language. I'm a British user, however when doing a clean install it automatically defaults to the American keyboard setting. My laptop had already been changed to the English setting by the bods at work when I got it, but how do I change the language on XP? I've tried Control Panel > Keyboard as works with Windows ME (prev operating system) but I cannot find an option to change the language. Any help greatly appreciated, Thanks, John |

Right click on your start button and select Properties. In the "Taskbar" tab, uncheck the box that says "Group similar taskbar buttons" and they will stay seperate.

Hi,
1) Rightclick on the taskbar, select "properties" and uncheck "group similar task buttons". Click OK and enjoy. RJ

OK it's me again lol.
When I installed MSN Messenger onto my computer, I linked my .NET Passport account to my XP user account. This means that everytime I log on, I am automatically signed into Windows Messenger - problem is that there is no icon for Windows Messenger on the task bar. When I log into MSN Messenger, it then logs me out of WM. I've had a look in msconfig to see if I can disable Windows Messenger at startup but cannot find a way to do it. Is there a way I could do this, or, is it possible for me to break the link between my .NET Passport account and my XP account? Many Thanks, John |
