WinXP Home stalls on start up.

Ever since I built my PC this past spring, I have installed and reinstalled windows about 10-15 times. I need your guys' help to get to the bottom of the problem.
I RMA'd my motherboard because I thought it was the root of the problem, but it isn't.

Okay, how this usually happens is I'll install Winodws XP home, then about a month later, it'll start stalling on startup; it will be displaying that scrolling blue bar when it is loading Windows, then after about 4-6 scrolls the lights on my joystick and keyboard will blink-- this is usually when it goes to the login screen or logs in automatically to my account, depending on what my current confiuguration is.

What happens now is, instead of loadign into Windows, the blue bar will just keep scrolling for about a minute or two, then the bar freezes and I try to reboot my computer. I can get it into safe mode and perform a system restore, but that doesn't seem to have any effect on my problem.

At this point, I am usually forced to reinstall Windows, but I just got all of my settings and programs in Windows set up just the way I like them.

Any help to this problem would be greatly appreciated.

EF, highjacking someone else's thread is quite discourteous. Please start your own thread so both of you can receive personalized attention. And turn off the Auto Restart feature. You'll receive a BSOD with an error message that will point you in the right direction. Post the error message here if you need help with it.

Dude, I'd suggest disconnecting unnecessary hardware and adding the items back one at a time and see if one of them is causing the slow boot time.

Aah sorry, I wasn't trying to hijack this post. I thought it was a good idea to post here since we have similar problems, I'm used to boards where people get angry if someone starts a new thread on a topic already being discussed >.< I guess it's best to start a new thread though.
