XP Pro full version thinks its an upgrade ?

I have searched MS Support and must not be using the the right words or something.

But I am reinstalling my wifes machine. A new primary hard drive that was re set to factory specs via a low level wipe ( zero write). As well I am using BooitNG to multiboot the machine and set up a partition that way on the primary drive.

Anyway my full legal version of windows XP pro is asking me to insert a cd to see if I qualify for the upgrade. Ummm I do not have the upgrade. Its an older version ( pre sp1).

Anyone know why its asking me to do this ?? kind of curious since I could just insert a disk that qualifies. But I should NOT have to do this with this version of the software since its a full version.

Thanks

I would say that your Windows Setup CD can't see an empty partition and it's trying to upgrade already existing Windows on yours HDD!!!
