Data Execution Prevention
When I load up this one folder with some recorded video, I get a message saying that Data Execution Prevention is closing Windows Explorer. I changed the settings to turn on DEP for all programs except those that I have selected, and windows explorer is selected. I've rebooted and everything, but yet I still get the same error message. I tried disabling data execution prevention completely by modifying hte boot.ini file, but that didn't seem to do anything. Any Ideas? Thanks

Are you using XP SP2? Have you tried disabling PAE? Use /noexecute=alwaysoff /NOPAE and try it.

I like extra security but when it starts screwing with my computer, I think I'll survive without it So thanks again |

Im having the exact same problem when accessing an external hdd. DEP warning goes off and endtasks the file folders of that drive.
Can someone explain in more detail how to disable DEP beyond "/noexecute=alwaysoff /NOPAE"? |
