My computer doesnt have SCSI, yet windows xp yes "YES IT DOES!!"

2 out of 3 computers on my land have started installing 2 scsi controllers
"Copystar Fantom scsi Controller"
"D347PRT SCSI Controller"
and they both have also installed
"Copystar Fantom DVDROM SCSI Cdrom Device"

Neither of them have these inside their cases, its just happened the last few days, system restore does nothing (as per usual)

is this typical XP? or wots goin on?

One has SP2, the other has SP1.

Knock yourselves out on this one, lol!

Umm sorry, but I don't understand what you are saying. Could you please clarify?

NCC, you're new here but you better read the Forum Rules you agreed to when you signed up. I edited your post to remove the poorly hidden swearing. We don't tolerate that around here.

nup never used this fantom thing, it was weird, i had one computer running all nice, as soon as i plugged it into the network, and rebooted, the dvd stuff came up on it, but its always been there on one of the others.

If i disable the devices or delete them, they just come back on the next restart...

Did you happen to install Daemon Tools? If so that's where this comes from.

Something further on this subject. What follows is quoted from the Daemon Tools homepage:

Quote:
the trojaned version of Daemon Tools that was available on www.download.com
is now replaced by our original file.

The trojaned file was "infected" with Win32.Qrap - a dropper that seems to
install adware stuff (windupdates.com-adware stuff). We already proof
legal actions against illegal DT-bundler who try to profit from DaemonTools

The ORIGINAL filesize is about 492KB

md5-checksum: FE36EF3ABF2589BEF67F0113F40FF845

if checksum doesn't fit, it's NOT an original filepackage anymore and you
should be carefull. If you're not sure, you can also ask us directly. Don't
send us unwanted files, only email us text, we will then decide whether we
need the affected file or not later.
