Check the folder the program is in or in the start menu to see if it has its own uninstallation program you can run so it can remove its self. What program is it?

well if its not your user account type Panama Red suggested then i am a bit lost. It isn't a spyware detector you are trying to uninstall is it? Many of them actually contain spyware. Is it every single program in the list? or is it just a few or just one?

This may get interesting. I just got a call from a client whose pc I cleaned out a couple months ago. Been running fine. All of a sudden she has internet problems and when she looked in the Add/Remove programs area, nothing was available to be removed! Sounds like we got us a Trojan or Virus going around. I'll post back later with what I find. The pc is being dropped off this evening.

Crap Cleaner can access uninstallers. Try that.

Hmmm. Could be something new. I'm bored so i'll have a googleing session on it.

--later--

I can't find anything. Only found one forum with a similar problem and it was unresolved. user did say they had recently installed Norton Internet
Security 2005 and System Works though. Maybe theres something in that.
