Please help
I am having problems with my lap top.. it worked fine....now it wont stay on...It keeps showing the "microsoft windows xp screen"... then it keeps restarting and shutting itself down.. it wont let me get past this screen... what could be wrong? how can I get back on??? please help...thanks in advance

You should press f8 repeatedly throughout start up. This should hopefully bring up the XP boot menu. You can choose different types of start up. Software or hardware issues can cause this so it can be hard to diagnose. Has it happened recently? If so, boot into safe mode and then do a system restore to a date whjen it worked. if that fials. Post what happened in here.
