networking issues
i have two computers running XP. i have cable internet. i have a cable modem and a broadband router.
i want to use computer A to be the computer which connects directly to the internet, and computer B to connect to the internet using computer A. however, when i used the Network Connections Wizard, it set up B as the ICS Host instead of the other way around. how do i change things to the initial scenario? because when i tried running the wizard to make A connect to the internet directly as the ICS, it won't let me. i've tried resetting all the modems, disabling computer B's network connection, but no go. help! |

If you have a router, is there any reason why you want to use ICS?
What messages/error is preventing you from setting up ICS on computer A? Computer A does have to NICs, correct? |

You don't need to use ICS to share printers and files. It will work just as well with both computers attached to the router. It is usually a simple matter of putting all computers in the same workgroup, then sharing the folders and printers that you want. Using ICS is completely unnecessary and needlessly complicates things.
