Drive indexing...

I have a 36 gig Raptor (system drive) and two 300 gig DiamondMax10s in RAID 0.

When browsing the RAID drives in Explorer, there is significant lag time while the file index is loading. I have indexing enabled, but I always get this lag. How can I have the contents of the drive read automatically by Windows XP so I won't have to wait?

I always turn indexing off...

You can delete the "Hidden" IconCache.db file from your profile directory (usually /Documents and Settings/Username/Local Settings/Application Data).

How would either of those make the drive lag less? Wouldn't disabling indexing mean a longer wait? What does IconCache do?
