win xp keeps restarting

My win xp home edition seems to just restart whenever it fills like it. Sometimes it will do this several times in a row before things go back to normal. Ant idea as to what might be causing this problem?

Did you recently install new components?
Also, to get an error messege do the following:
1. Click Start, and then right-click My Computer.
2. Click Properties.
3. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings under Startup and Recovery.
4. Under System failure, click to clear the Automatically restart check box.
5. Click OK, and then click OK.

This will disable the auto restart so you will be able to see what the error is.

ADD : I found this site, if you scroll a little down there is a section on continuos restarts.

SECOND ADD : Here is a link to microsoft support on the issue.

Could be 1 of many different things, do you know how to get to the event viewer?? You may get a clue there under system events. Check for ones that coincide with the times of the shutdowns.. Could be memory, could be power supply giving out, could be motherboard or any piece of hardware connected to the system that could be going bad and causing your problem..
