Command Prompt problem
Hey guys,
I was just experimenting with cmd.exe and changed the target to C:\, now everytime I open a command prompt, it takes me straight to my C: directory instead of a DOS box. What I was actually trying to do was change what it displays when you first open it. Instead of showing C:\Administrator\Documents and Settings\User. How do I change this? TIA

Right click on the Command Prompt shortcut from your Start Menu and change the section as shown in attachment

Cheers Statica!
The field I changed was the target field, I needed the correct path for it again lol. I guess I got the wrong field this time. Whoops, lesson learned. Thanks again ![]() EDIT: In the target field, where %SystemRoot% is in the path, what does that actually mean? What do the %'s mean? Last edited by Gizmo; 08-22-2005 at 12:06 AM. |
