How do I get rid of this icon?

I had a creative mp3 player installed and I deleted it, but this icon still remains. It's the one under "other."

if u have uninstalled the reative software, i'm pretty sure u can just right-click the icon and select delete to remove it. but it might just need unpluggin and restarting.

I can't delete it. What does unplugging and restarting do?

This seems to have worked for some people, quoting from another forum
Quote:
Here is a method that I know will work did it last night myself. Updated my BIOS and I had saved the original file to my desktop kept saying it was active and wouldn't let me delete it either. Do a search on google for advanced system optimizer by System Tweak. Has a free 30 day trial. Install it, it has a feature called secure delete, its found under the privacy and security section. Boot up in safe use the administrator account open the optimizer program select the secure delete function, type the filename.exe in the box and trust me it will delete that file. Its a round about way but if the file is getting on your nerves because you can't get rid of it, it'll be well worth it. Good Luck!!!

Thanks! For some reason when I deleted that program, that icon didn't go with it. That wasn't the original icon, it's just like it's a remnant of the original one.

Well this looks like a really clever piece of software that does not want to leave your pc at all..Try verifying the name of the software and also see how its entry is listed in your regedit.exe (Windows Registry) file. See the entries for the specific software and also try to remove all of them, but with extreme caution. A wrong key deleted in regedit.exe may render the system unstabilized or even unbootable. I repeat, I faced the same issue with the Nokia Phone Software and found out its specific entry in regedit.exe, and deleted it. Its gone and things are fine once again. Try this and in case you are using a third-party software like the one mentioned above, make sure that you have a backup of all important data, just a precautionary measure..
