XP Corrupt Cant Read SATA drive with Recovery Disc
I suspect my SATA drive is on it's way out. I get constant checkdisc on startup and at times the bios boot won't read the disc at all. The temp of the disc is pretty hot (almost tough to touch). Now I can't get windows to load (I get the windows pretty screen but no users to log on) . I wanted to see if I could repair windows thru the windows recovery disc. Windows recovery doesn't recognize my sata drive. How do I get the CD to recognize the SATA drive???
Thanks to all in advance Windows XP SP 2 ASUS mobo Seagate HD |

You boot up to the windows cd, press f6 (or whatever it is) to load 3rd party drivers from a floppy disk. Put your sata drivers on there so that windows recognizes it. Then while in the windows cd boot menu don't install but either (1) repair the install or (2) go to the recovery console option. One of those 2 options should work.
