Windows Media Player Problem

Hey guys,

I rarely use this computer to play music or watch videos so I'm not sure how long this has been going on. Whenever I start Windows Media Player 10 (its running XP Home SP1), I get this error message:

Windows Media Player is not installed properly. Restart your computer and log on with a user account that permits you to install programs.

I know that the computer giving me this error ran WMP10 fine about a month ago. Any ideas?

Can you unistall it and then reinstall it?
control panel, add/remove items, add/remove windows components, then check windows media player.
to re-install it, you can go to the microsoft website and download it.

Windows Media Player showed up in the Add/Remove programs list. So I clicked on uninstall and it basically reverted back to WMP9 which works.

Thanks guys
