Question Momentary freezes

For the last couple days I've been having little freezes on my computer. Not lock ups, but programs will freeze for a second or two then resume. I first noticed it playing a game, and thought it was lag, but then afterwards, I realised every program does it.

It's not even when I do major memory intensive stuff. Sometimes the just moving the mouse across the screen, it will freeze a sec halfway across.

So far I've run scan disk, ad-aware, and disk defragmentor. Nothing out of the normal on those.

Any other ideas on what could be happening? I haven't changed any hardware or anything.

AMD Athlon 1 ghz Processor
640 RAM
RADEON 9250 256.0 MB Video Card
SB Live! Sound card

If you need any other info to have any ideas, let me know.
