CDboot: couldnt find NTLDR
Just got a new samsung 80 gig drive in a box that is runnning iwill Award BIOS.
I put the XP cd in and when it trys to load the CD it comes up with an error. CDBOOT: couldnt find NTLDR. The CD is brand new. The CD-ROM drive jumper setting is on cable select. In BIOS it is on mode 3 ( whatever that means) Auto detect As for the HDD, its on auto detect and LBA, UDMA 33, Master. I went in BIOS and I cant see anything wrong, the cdrom is the first boot device. Any suggestions? |

Try making the CD as your only boot device if possible. Remove all the others. Also is this an authentic CD? It is also possible that the CD is damaged.

Go here
http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000465.htm I had this problem recently and the only way I could install XP was partition and format the new hard drive first. You may need to do that. Good luck
