windows xp, whats with all the choices?
im building my first comp , i want to go with windows xp, then i saw this,

Go with the one in the middle that says "Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2". It'll be the most up-to-date, since SP2 came out after SP1a. The other one is an upgrade version which I would think means you already have to have an existing version of Windows in order to use it. Like, for instance, you have Windows 2000 and you want to upgrade it to XP, you'd get that. I'd go for the SP2 OEM full version though.

ID go with home SP2. thought SP2 can be upgrade trought the internet so it dosent matter if you get home SP1

If you own any version of windows though, it's cheaper to get the upgrade, you can still do a clean install, it will just ask for the old windows cd sometime during install to veryify that you are indeed upgrading.

The full OEM is actually a bit cheaper than the retail upgrade. If you are buying parts anyway, buy the OEM.
