Hardware Wizard "unknown hardware"

Greetings All,

I just downloaded and installed the latest driver for my ASUS A9800 pro graphics card.

I would like to say everything went as smooth as silk, but we're talking about someone who uses the name "ghost in the machine."

After some (many) reboots and reinstalls, everything seems to be working except that on start-up the FOUND NEW HARDWARE wizard starts up. It doesn't know what hardware it has found, but it thinks it has found some new hardware.

I've tried to follow the wizard (into the mountains of Moria) to see if something could be installed -- but with no success. In the end it says that it couldn't find the needed files on the hard and success in it's own unique way that I go learn more about computers and try again later.

Anyone got any ideas. Everythings seems to be working fine -- so I would be happy with a way to kill the wizard.

Cheers,
Ghost

Have you checked the Device Manager for any conflicts.

Thanks for the idea.

I went to the device manager and found a big yellow question mark called "other devices" and under it two other yellow questions marks called "unknown device." I uninstalled both unknown devices and we'll see what happens. So far so good.
