okay... i've set up my two monitors in an extended desktop configuration...
my question: is it possible to have two different wallpapers; one for each monitor? can't seem to do it...

Yes it is possible, but you have to edit a file to have both wallpapers on it, just make it 2048 x 768 if you have two monitors at 1024 x 786 and it should put one wallpaper on each screen...

I've set two different screen savers to each monitor using UltraMon. It's a pretty cool program. Gives you a taskbar for the 2nd monitor also, and icons on each window to move them back and forth. It has a 40 day trial, so check it out. There's also a free progam called MultiMon Taskbar that puts a tray on the 2nd screen. Won't allow you to select different screen savers though.

But I don't know how to make two different wallpapers, I'll try what was just mentioned, but would also like to know if it's possible. If you make the file 2048 then wouldn't you just have half the image on one screen? It really wouldn't be two different images. Also, I couldn't do that because I have different resolutions for my monitors.

hey marke -- i did stumble upon multimon, or ultraman/mon LOL -- it does look cool, but unless it gave me the option to physically apply two separate wallpapers, one on each display rather than just making one large file and tiling or stretching it out between the 2 displays, it's not worth the purchase.

ATI has a FREE multi-monitor utility, Hydravision or Hydra-something, which does most of what ultramon essentially does without the dual screensavers and what not. i know NVIDIA has their own version of a multi-display utility as well... but i have an ATI card...

maybe someone will come up with a windows registry hack to accomplish this 2 wallpaper deal...

thanks!

okay -- downloaded the trial -- ultramon DOES allow you to install separate wallpapers for each display.

my account feels lighter already... LOL

Wicked, I'll have to look for it, would be nice to have separate images on each screen. I may actually purchase it.

EDIT --

Found it, man this program is cool. I wonder if there is a way to change the color of the taskbar so it matches the other monitor.

Hey...How would you like to go in together and pay for the registration? How wrong would that be to share a key? Just kidding George.

EDIT --

I have GOT to show you this...this is the COOLEST wallpaper I have ever made. Obi Wan on the left, and General Grevious on the right. Take a look at the two images. I'm buying this program now. I've got all SORTS of ideas to make wallpapers battle each other now. Klingon and Federation, Vader and Luke, Dooku and Yoda, WOW my mind is going crazy with all the image possibilities.

EDIT -- WOW that took me a LONG time to try to get the image small enough and still maintain the quality of the pictures. Imagine seeing those on a dual screen image. Whoopie!!!
