I am using an old keyboard that does not have the Win-key and also the Shortcut menu key..I really am used to using Winkey+Run, Winkey+E, and other keyshortcuts. But with this keyboard i am having a tough time not able to access these keyboard shortcuts..Is there any way I can attain the above functionality(Winkey+e/r/f, etc) using some sort of desktop shortcuts or any other method. Please let me know,
Thanks. Ed. Last edited by edison; 09-23-2005 at 01:20 AM. |

Umm... bumping a message up or looking for a followup between ~2am and 5am for eastern N.America just isn't going to work.
Usually, I'd say that unless you're really attached to the keyboard it's a lot less trouble to just buy a new one. If you're persistent, you could try using a keyboard remap utility. The only one I've used was by Microsoft on Win9x powertoys. I have no guarantees on whether it will remap the winkey. To let you know though, CTRL+ESC is the shortcut key for the start menu. However, CTRL+ESC+R will not work. CTRL+ESC .. pause R will work, if you have the Run option showing on your start menu. Regarding openning Windows explorer, consider creating a keyboard shortcut. |
