windows updates?
hey everyone. i just recently had a hard drive crash, and I just got my new drives and installed Windows XP Home edition as my OS. I just wanted to know if there's any updates you guys recommend that I install before I'm finished and start using everything. thanks!

i would say put on your anti virus and go online to windows update site and you would get all available updates that goes with your version of windows. Or you can turn on automatic updates and that would also do it for you. But i would go to the update site first.

Just get SP2, install it now and it should contain most of the things you'll need. Plus if your rig has issues installing it you won't lose all the stuff you've already installed trying to get it working

Also you can downloadMicrosoft Baseline Security Analyzer and run it. It wil help you identify and fix any vulnerabilities in your system, and let you know which updates you have, whether they are working, and which ones you need.
