Folder will not respond

Folder on C: My Documents just hangs when I try to open anything inside of it then I have to kill Windows Explorer. PC is virus and spyware free. Using XP2.

what view is it on? If you have any exceedingly large audio or video files, it might be waiting to get the properties on it. Try doing a directory listing to see if there is anything huge sitting there. You could also try something like a system restore to see if it helps.

Details view. Only have a few files in the folder (1.5 GB) . I have kept many more files in that folder (>2.5 GB). Task Mgr says Folder is not responding. HDD is less than 6 mths. old.
