Windows XP Recycle Bin Size Increase
I have an unusual request. While most people want to made there recycle bins as small as possible, I want to back it bigger. I currently have 4x 250Gig harddrives in a Raid array making a 1Terabyte drive. This drive is used for video editing work with the average file size of 2-6 gig. Is there a way I can increase the size of the recycle bin to about 10 Gig. This is only 1% of my drives capacity. Windows XP is limiting me to 3.99Gig.
I recently accidently delete a 5Gig video file and it was not put into the recycle bin. I managed to recover the file using an undelete program, but all I really needed was a slightly bigger recycle bin. Can I somehow override Windows 3.99gig limit. Thanks in advance |

Wow I didn't know there was a limit, right click on the recycle bin and look in properties, there should be an adjustment to allow a percentage of the HDD for the recycle bin with 10% as the default.

Cannot be done. It's a programming limit in Windows, similar to the 3.99gb limit for FAT32 files.
