Missing Export MFC42.DLL:6929
I have been looking at a PC for a friend who is getting the following message on startup when Windows loads ICQ. She is using 98SE and the error message is as follows:
LITESKINUTILS.DLL FILE IS LINKED TO MISSING EXPORT MFC42.DLL:6929 I have a copy of the MFC42.DLL file from the windows CD, is it just a matter of pasting it into the right folder and if so which one? Thanx in advance Tone Last edited by Big Tone; 10-03-2005 at 05:56 AM. Reason: Spelling! |

Do programs like PC Bug Doctor and PC Rescue really work?

This error is normally seen when you have multiple mfc42.dll files on your system, and in your case, ICQ is picking up the wrong one (usually an old one).
Look for all mfc42.dll files by using Search or Find on your system, and rename them (with the exception of the system one in C:\Windows\System), and then reinstall ICQ. It is recommended that you uninstall ICQ first using Control Panel->Add/remove programs and then installing it again. |
