Activation Question
I will be building my girlfriend a new computer shortly. All components will be new with the exceptions of the CD R/W drive and HDD. I hope to use her XP disc which came with her old dell. I've read that when doing this you have to call Microsoft but will this work since it will be a non-Dell machine.

But no, you can't use a Dell Restore cd in a new, non-Dell, computer. So it's an OEM copy, bought with hardware, for your girl.

Since you'll need to buy a new copy of XP, here's a good source. Price is right and shipping is free. I buy a lot from these guys.

Dark Nova, you gotta quit giving advice that is contrary to the MS Eula for XP. What you did is NOT legal.
