Xp vs pro?
Ok, my friend doesnt believe me but what is the differnce between xp home and xp pro. He said it has better security. Is this true. Does the regular person need xp pro?

No and no.
The main difference I believe is that Pro has lots more networking options and features, administrating features, etc. The average person won't need the featuers of XP Pro.

Pro lets you connect to a domain among other advanced network features, average home users definately don't need the Pro version.

The average home user doesn't need Pro. Out of the box it isn't any more secure than home but Pro does have the group policy editor in which an administrator can make the security tighter than home and of course the domain and network tools.

Also, something that doesn't matter much any more with the release of dual core CPUs, but Pro also runs a multiprocessor setup.

XP Pro also has IIS 5 if you are interested in doing ASP development on your desktop.
