new internet connection name
hi to all ....just installed windows 2000 sp4 and i am trying to set up new connection ..everthing goes fine until i have to give a name ..no name is accepted whatever i use ... a small problem but really inconvenient ..
has anyone any idea why ? thanks |

name for internet?
does it say something else, like cannot conect or something?

new connection
hi Dark Nova.....it says not a valid name must use at least one character which is not a space and should not begin with a period ..
i have tried names such as administrator ..dandare... 123456.. pompey..etc but it still will not accept any name for a new connection in the administrators account ...i have tried repairing windows from the cd but no different .. i am using start/settings/network and dial up connections/make new connection /........./enter a name for the connection etc.../ it just will not accept a name ....?? hence no internet connection is possible..!!!!! |

maybe you should contact them and ask your problem, maybe they have diffrent list of names.

ok solved the problem by upgrading hd and doing fresh install ....must have been corrupted windows files i guess ...anyway its all working now and thanks for advice ..
