Almost finished loading.......but not quite...

Ok, I have an E Machines T2893. Now the issue is when I boot it up, gets to the dktop, but nothing can be accessed. No desktop items show on the desktop, no start menu shows. I can get the task manager up but it is like windows just gives up on loading the rest of itself at that point. I tried restarting explorer.exe but did not work. The only thing that worked was ending the svchost.exe process in the task manager, but when I do that, windows forces me to restart....... . You guys got anyhting on this one?
