Re-installing xp on new build
Hi everyone,
I bought a retail Windows xp pro 2/3 years ago and installed it on my pc (own build). I now wish to build a new pc to REPLACE my old outdated pc and want to install my xp pro onto this machine. Will xp activate on the internet as on the first installation? Will I need to contact Microsoft via internet/phone? Or will something else happen? Cheers, Mark. |

You will likely have to activate over the net. If it doesnt work out you will need to call in; either way it's pretty painless and shouldn't take more than 5 min. of your time.

If it hasn't been activated within the past 120 days, it will activate over the Internet.
