Unable to unistall a program

Hello,

I installed an Excel add on, deleted it, and want to do a fresh install.

I deleted the actual files on the C drive and did the add/remove programs on XP...it's no longer on either.

When I try to do a fresh install, the program gets to about 75% installed, then says "re-installation error 20, installation has failed", then boots me out.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Thank you!

did you restart after the uninstall?
if not, do.
try cleaning your cache (do you use ccleaner? if not, try it).

G'day
Go to run type regedit and open edit.Click on find type the name of the program you can't uninstall and click find next delete the entry. Press F3 Key to get the next one till you got them all.
Back up the registry before you start deleting, in case you delete a wrong key. To backup the registry click on file, in the registry editor, and click on export. Name the file and save it in a folder you remember.
Good luck
John
