Angry Fire Repairing my system

So I just reinstalled XP and everything, did all the work to get my stuff back, yada yada yada, and now I have a system error that comes up all time.

It says that "Run DLL as an APP has encountered an error and must close" It mostly shows up when I try to access my control panel. In short, I can't. It's a drag. It shows up on a lot of other things too and I'm convinced that it's causing a few problems on my system.

I have considered using the windows XP disc to do a repair on my system files. Is this in any way a bad idea?

I tried it already and it was asking me for some adminsitrator password. What is this password? I don't ever remember setting one up when I reinstalled my system.

Anybody have any clues?

If you didn't set up an administrator password, then there isn't any. Just hit Enter. However, what are you planning on doing when you are in the repair console? You will be at a C:\WINDOWS> prompt - what next?

In Windows, put the XP CD in, open the Run box, and type SFC /SCANNOW to refresh the system files.
