What does this one mean??

On a win 98 machine, I get this error when I turn on the machine:
"The following error occured while loading Protocol number 1.
Error 59: A network error has occured"

Does thust mean that a network cable is unplugged or something more serious?

It means you need to uninstall all the network components including dialup networking and reinstall them. No major deal - dialup networking is uninstalled by going into add/remove programs, Windows Setup, Communications, and unchecking dialup networking and associated components. Then open Networks and delete all components. Reboot, and build it back up by opening a run box and typing INETWIZ.

98 CD or cab files on hard drive required.
