........dell......do I have to say more?

Ok, now in windows 2000, running in safe mode, I can not use the keyboard on the laptop. For some reason it wont type. So I attached an external keyboard and still no go. The weird thing is, is that it works when I have to type in the password to get onto the account but as soon as I am in the account, the keyboard does not work. Checked device manager, drivers are good. Should I uninstall and re install maybe......or something crazy needs to be done??

Why are you in safe mode?

It seems like I have seen a problem before with those funky FN key being stuck.

I am in safe mode because the PC wont boot normally, and I am trying to get into reg editor to see what is starting up when windows is started up normally. However, because of this keyboard issue I can't get into regedit........grrrr

Do you still have the ability to run virus and spyware and malware scans? If yes - do so... you could have a possible malware start up program or virus that is disabling the keyboard after logging on (when apps start up apps are loaded).
