Sorry if this is in the wrong forum. I'am new to this place any help would be appreciated I have a problem with my windows XP.
Ok, here's what happened. I just reformatted my Computer installing all my progs and junk and then after all that time I decided to install service pack 2. Upon rebooting the system to finalize the update I get this blue screen that reads... "STOP: c0000135 {Unable to Locate Component} This application has failed to start because winsrv was not found. Re- installing the application may fix this problem." Now, I read up on this problem. Sometimes it happens when you install the microsoft updates in the wrong order. Bascially thats what it comes down to or some file didn't get updated during the service pack udate. I read the solutions to this problem and none work. I figured that i could reformat and just do it all over again but now when I put in a start-up disk in the floppy drive I get a "Disk I/O Error" and nothing more. I tried setting the BIOS to load from the CD ROM but it seems as if it doesnt read the Disc and then it continues to load as normal and I get the same blue screen again. (now the disc I'am using is a burned copy of Windows XP, I HAD a legit copy but It got scratched to heck so I had to resort to a burned copy for now) The Burned copy of windows might be the reason the system isn't reading it but I have not a clue. All I can do is access the BIOS...startup disk gives me the I/O error and regular boot up gives me that horrid blue screen. Any suggestions?? Thanks in Advance. My PC specs are as follows: K8-Triton, K8NS Ultra 939 Nforce 3 Motherboard AMD Athlon 64 3500+ running at 2.2ghz 768 DDR RAM Nvidia 6600 GT 200gig HD |

A burned copy of XP won't work as a boot disk unless it was created as a boot disk. Plus, Forum Rules prohibit discussion/support of anything but legal copies of Windows. Sorry, but I have to close this thread. If you have a legal Product Key and a damaged disk, you may want to contact Microsoft by phone for a solution.
