PC Getting bogged down
Hey guys,
I do weekly disk-cleanups and as each week goes by, it seems that the actual "cleaning" process is getting expontentialy longer, while all the regular processes and boot ups still run at the same speed. my last clean-up took about 10 minuets. Anybody know what could possibly be the problem? Thanks |

I would assume that in the span of a week you have accumulated more files on your machine. The more stuff it has to scan the longer it will take. You might want to consider a second hard drive to use as a storage area in order to cut down the clutter on your primary hard drive.

Do you also run Disk Defraggments?
Defragging can help speed up your computer in all means (if you haven't defragged in a long long time - a speed improvement is noticible).

yes, i defragg about once every 2 months (if it needs it) and when i do the disk cleanups, the amount of storage it will get rid of is usually in the same ball park every time (cant think of the number off my head)
