Long blank with XP boot

I just got Qwest DSL and after installing their MSN Explorer when I boot the system I get a blank monitor after the XP splash screen. This blank screen lasts about 3 to 5 minutes then my desktop shows up normally. Trying to figure out where to look and what to stop to eliminate the BLANK monitor syndrome.

That's a bit of a long time. It's probably part of the connecting to a network delay....Unplug the DSL line and reboot just to test and see if it sppeds things up any.
