window2000 and profiles

Log on a windows 2000 machine using:
login name
password
domain name

All is well however each time some else logs onto this machine, I.E. and Microsoft Word want to run their setups.

Under documents and settings, there is the administrator, all users, default user and all of the people who have logged into the machine.

When I log on as administrator, under the local login (no domain), there is no issues with I.E. and Word.

How do I set the machine so that all users get the same or default profile,no matter how they log on.

thanks

Hi:

Yes, all works well but the problem is people do not know what to do during the setup of these applications.

Should only get the setup the first time that they logon the machine. You can script most of the variables in the Office setup using the Office Resource Kit and control the IE setup via GP.

GP probably means Group Policies.

Thanks for your responses:

I think what I am trying to say is:

How I get all users who log onto a machine to use the default profile that is setup on that machine?

If a roaming profile has not been created for the user, should the machine not default to the default user profile, or how is this done.

thanks again for your input.

Yes, when a user logs onto a machine in a Domain environemnt for the first time he\she will have the programs\resources available as setup in the default profile which can be edited by the administrator.

Each user will have to run through the install of Office software once but if it has been setup on a central location, most likely the server, it shouldn`t be a problem.

After the user logs on, each and every profile will then be unique on that client in some way depending on what shares or resources are available to each user. What permissions each user has, etc.
