Scandisk Trouble

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just built a computer for my wife out of parts I had left over from another build and parts of a old HP 6370Z. I installed W2000 pro on it and it is running pretty good (a little slow) but every time I reboot it wants to do a scandisk.

How do I turn off scandisk so it only runs when I want it to run?

TIA
Gary

Please read posts more carefully.

I would boot with the 2000 CD and log into the repair console - and run CHKDSK /R to make sure there's no problems with the drive. I'd also run hard drive manufacturer's diagnostics on the drive to make sure it doesn't have bad sectors.
