How to re-enable drag and drop?

Hi folks,

Well my ability to drag and drop files from other folders onto my desktop has been lost for some reason.

Operating system: Win XP with SP2 on Dell 4700.

How can I restore drag and drop to the desktop?

Thanks in advance!

Still not working

Thanks, seems like that SHOULD fix it but doesn't (since I see that "Enable Drag and Drop" was already checked).

Any other ideas? Much appreciated.

Dragging

Hi glc,

Nope.

Using either both the right or the left button, the file SEEMS to be dragging (there is a shadow), but when I drop it, it doesn't actually add the file to the destination folder.

Time for a virus, trojan, and spyware scan.

System Shows Clean

Thanks again glc,

I had been thinking the same thing...however scans with McAfee, Ad-Aware and Webroot all show clean...so thoroughly puzzled now.

Then perhaps a System Restore might solve the problem. Try setting it back a week or so, if it works the you must have changed a setting around.
