Win x64 horrors

I recently purchased an acer ferrari with x64 win, and i have had horrors from day 1. Mostly due to programms not being compatible. This is confusing since i was under the impression that x64 was backwards compatible, can someone clarify this for me. Also if it isnt does anyone know which programs wont work on my new comp?

Heh, id have to agree with that. I tried it on my audio production system, and barely any of the programs I needed to run the neccessary software would just refuse to run in a 64 bit environment. Also the 64 bit sound drivers were quite shaky, so it took me right back to regular 32 bit for the time being.

I just built a computer with Windows XP Pro x64 and I wanted to tinker around with it. Finding drivers and software for x64 can be a chore but it can be down a good site to check out for drivers and 64 bit software is http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?
