Looks like you have a hosed up Windows Update. If KB901017 is in add/remove programs, remove it and see what happens, go back to Windows Update and see what it finds for you. |

From googling "$NTUninstallKB901017$" it looks like that is an uninstaller for the MS-05-048 security update.

Thats what I found to...but
I am leary of doing it... How do I really know if it's not a virus that put it there trying to fool me into doing something that may gain them access to my pc.... I just really wanted to know if anybody has had this... And if was legit before I did it... I still don't know what the 2 .dll files are that are with the subfolder part? and if I should do the .exe and let it(the program) uninstall it or should I do it manually...? it just came out of nowhere when I fired up the pc... |

See if you can uninstall the update in add/remove programs. Then go to windows update and reinstall it. You might want to run the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer too. It will scan your machine and list all the updates you have, the ones you need, and whether the ones you have are installed and working correctly.
