clearing a computer

I have an old computer that I'm giving to my young sons. My question is how do I clear everything off of the harddrive and then reinstall windows xp home.

Just insert the Windows XP CD and do a clean install, it should reformat your drive... just don't do a repair install, because that won't

Another option is to go into command prompt and type in del *.*

If you want to wipe the hard drive clean you can use a zero fill utility like Darik's Boot and Nuke or KillDisk.

Another option is to go into command prompt and type in del *.*
That will only delete the root files not subdirectories.

Using del *.* will only delete the files in the root not subfolders.
