xp error

When ever i try to look at my pictures explorer (not iexplorer) crashes, sometimes it will just crash and return to the desktop others it will give me an error message.

Instruction at 0x78017ab8 referenced memory at 0x00505b. The memory could not be "read".
Click ok to terminate program
click cancel to debug the program

This only happens when i look at my picture folders, no other folders this happens to. It happens on either harddrive but i burned them to a cd and i can view the folders fine from the cd but this error comes when i put them back onto the hard drive.

No spyware or viruses on system, just scaned them. I havn't deleted nothing. Also my Hijackthis scans are clean.
